Copyright in the Digital Age

Copyright in the Digital Age

When big-wigs from the world of the creative industries, music, publishing, photography and the open data movement got together to explore the issue of copyright in the digital age, germination were there to capture it, producing a 3 minute video of this ground-breaking event which is now being used worldwide by the British Council.

Issues explored included ways of protecting artists’ creative work in the digital arena, whilst giving consumers access to content, ways of embedding digital product with new tag codes and a simplified system where royalties can be more easily distributed.

We used the excuse of the 300th birthday of copyright to throw a party and bring this issue to life. See more on the debate here on Counterpoint – the British Council’s think tank website.
